Take a Stand for Deaf Babies and Children
Our Stand
It is not hearing loss that results in academic, social and emotional failure, it is situational language loss/deprivation that occurs when Deaf children do not receive adequate visual language access and input during those very critical years birth to three and after age 3 in Part B of IDEA.

Access to Language Changes a Child's Life
My grandson was born deaf, for half his 3 years he had no language the result was a boy who banged his head on the floor in frustration, tantrums and was out of control, at a year and a half he started ASL and the results were dramatic, he is a happy, healthy child today who talks with his hands.

Hope for the Future
The birth of DBC gives me hope for the future of deaf babies and children for the first time since my own two were born 40  yrs. ago.  Hearing parents back then (even for the most part, sadly, *still*) react from a mixture of fear and ignorance, making poor choices for their beloved (deaf) infants..
