PRESS RELEASE: The DBC Responds to HEAR Indiana and "Doing Deaf Differently"
Tuesday, 11 November 2008

In response to a recent press release put out by HEAR Indiana, the Deaf Bilingual Coalition expresses its dismay in regard to the wording of the headline which shows great disrespect to the Deaf Community by using the phrase: "Doing Deaf Differently." The Deaf Bilingual Coalition, Indiana Chapter, will hold an informational rally in support of American Sign Language and ASL-English bilingualism on Friday, November 14, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., outside the Garrison Hotel and Conference Center located at 6002 N. Post Road, Indianapolis, IN 46216, which is located in Fort Harrison State Park.
